NFPA 70-E Standard for Electrical Safety in Workplace Course is designed to equip learners with knowledge on NFPA 70E, the very foundation of safety standards in electrical professional environments, which seeks to minimize the potential risks of arc flash, electric shock, and equipment danger. Participants will appreciate fundamental safety components such as arc flash risk evaluation, approach boundaries, an analysis of electric hazard, lockout/tagout (LOTO) actions, and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) donning procedures. This training also meets OSHA standards as well as NFPA requirements which assist companies in making their workplaces better and safer. Attention is given to the identification of potential electrical hazards, the definition of an electrically safe working condition, and the development of an active electrical safety program. The training is for electricians, maintenance personnel, safety officers, and supervisors. This training will ensure the participants understand the necessary measures required to mitigate the electrical accidents while also meeting legislative requirements. After completing the course, participants will be ready for implementing NFPA 70E safety precautions, improving employee safety, and managing the chances of electrical problems in the workplace.

By the end of this course, learners will have a thorough understanding of the NFPA 70-E Standard and will be able to implement safety procedures, evaluate hazards, and take applicable steps to comply with the Standards relevant to the protection of workers from electrical dangers in the industry.

Introduction to NFPA 70-E and Its Importance in Electrical Safety

  • Understand the objectives and outlines of NFPA 70-E with particular emphasis on its purpose concerning electrical safety for those working on or about electrical systems.
  • Recognize the importance of the NFPA 70-E standard in the reduction of possible injuries or fatalities due to electrical shock.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification for Electrical Safety

  • Learn how to carry out an assessment of potential risks that may include arc flash, electrocution, and shock in the workplace.
  • Understand how to assess and rank the risks of electrical hazards considering the severity and possibility of their outcome.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements Under NFPA 70-E

  • Learn what constitutes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for electrical workers such as arc-rated clothing, gloves, and face shields as required in NFPA 70-E.
  • Understand how to evaluate the proper level of PPE for mitigating specific tasks and ensure that workers are safeguarded properly concerning the hazard level of electricity involved.

Programs and Training on Electrical Safety Practices for Compliance with NFPA 70-E

  • Understand how to develop and implement an electrical safety program that complies with the NFPA 70-E standard, including safe work practices, maintenance procedures, and definable emergency plans.
  • Familiarize with the scope of the internal training program necessary for the structure that addresses the NFPA 70-E standard under electrical hazards and safety methods needed on site.

Analysis and Mitigation of Arc Flash Hazard Risks

  • Explore how to carry out an arc flash hazard analysis and assessments of various potential arc flash hazard conditions as well as incident energy level values (IF) that can be lipotropic ally defined.
  • Understand the identification of active control measures and basic working boundary controls as well as proper labeling and reduction techniques for socialized push arc flash incidents.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.

Candidates will be provided a hard bound or soft material covering the whole course which can also be accessed through Phoenix LMS (learning management system) i.e. www.phoenixcpd.com

Successful candidates will be awarded with completion certificate awarded by Phoenix Safety Consultants UK
