Scaffolding Safety course addresses the critical issue of safely erecting, using, and dismantling scaffolding without the risk of falls, structural failures, or other hazards. This course includes instruction on several types of scaffolding, their load limits, stability requirements, and fall protection systems. This course also covers application of international standards including OSHA, AANSI, and BS EN with respect to scaffold assembly, inspection, hazards, and compliance. A significant amount of time is devoted to risk assessment, hazard identification, and ensuring safety for workers at height other than head level. scaffolding safety principles have been taught in conjunction with regulatory compliance promulgated by central government agencies. This training is tailored to construction personnel, supervisors, and safety professionals who will improve organizational and regulatory compliance issues in occupational health and safety. At the completion of this training, participants will be able to apply scaffolding safety principles in maintaining work safety compliance.

After finishing this course, learners will have the requisite knowledge and skills to identify scaffolding risks, put safety measures in place, and mitigate accidents and injuries relating to scaffold use:

Identifying Scaffolding Hazards

  • Identify the common technological and environmental hazards, including poor design, weather conditions, or instability, which pose scaffolding risks.
  • Classify fall-related accidents, equipment failure, and scaffold component misuse as potential scaffolding hazards.

Regulations and Standards for Scaffolding Safety

  • Research OSHA regulations and various international safety standards to gain a knowledge baseline on scaffolding safety regulations.
  • Establish legal responsibility and liability for ensuring safety compliance throughout the scaffolding's design, erection, and maintenance phases.

Scaffold Assembly and Structural Integrity

  • Mathematically justify the scaffold assembly procedures to ensure proper securing stabled for work and material creep.
  • Providing adequate scaffold structure support requires strong, correct materials and components of low-defect density.

Vertical and Horizontal Formwork for Slabs

  • Establishing guardrails as a personal fall arrest system (PFAS) demonstrates the heightened focus on fall protection needed for net systems.
  • Understanding the correct procedures for installation and maintenance of fall protection equipment to protect workers working at heights.

Scaffold Inspections and Maintenance

  • Conduct routine scaffold inspections to ensure the scaffold is safe for use, paying attention to hazards such as loose fittings or pieces of broken scaffolding.
  • Understand the maintenance activities that are required to ensure scaffolding does not suffer a structural failure or accident.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.

Candidates will be provided a hard bound or soft material covering the whole course which can also be accessed through Phoenix LMS (learning management system) i.e. www.phoenixcpd.com

Successful candidates will be awarded with completion certificate awarded by Phoenix Safety Consultants UK
