Scaffolding Erector course is meant for personnel engaged in the construction and industrial sector whose work involves scaffolding construction, modification and dismantling. Participants will gain adequate knowledge on scaffold parts and components, their loading ability, bracing patterns and stability provisions for safe and secure structures. The course provides important guidelines for safety such as fall safety, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and hazard recognition. There is great focus on the international compliance of safety norms including OSHA, ANSI, and BS EN. Practicals include building various scaffold types, platform securing, and pre use inspections. This program is targeted towards scaffolding erectors, construction workers, and maintenance personnel who, by the end of the training, will have the knowledge to safely erect and maintain scaffolding structures. Upon successful completion of this course, learners will have better understanding of safe scaffolding practices to minimize the risk of accidents and promote safety in the workplace.

After this course, participants will have the scaffolding knowledge and practical experience needed to implement safe and proper scaffold erection techniques with consideration of safety, risk management, and structural integrity during scaffold assembly and disassembly:

Comprehending the Components and Types of Scaffolds

  • Get familiar with various supported scaffold, suspended scaffold, and mobile scaffold types and their applications.
  • Comprehend the basic building block of scaffolds: standards, ledgers, transoms, base plates, braces, and their roles in maintaining stability.

Erection Procedures for Scaffolds

  • Work with scaffolder and other scaffold workers to integrate guidance resources and erect scaffolding structure starting from the base to framework.
  • Recognizing the manufacturer’s guide and protocol to avoid scaffolding missteps that can result in safety hazards.

Load Bearing and Stability of Scaffolds

  • Develop the capacity to measure how heavy scaffolding can be while ensuring it does not collapse through proper load distribution.
  • Learn ways to double-check the level of the scaffold and do ensure there is a stable surface to hold the scaffold firmly without it failing the structural integrity test.

For Scaffold Erectors Personal Protective Equipments (PPE)

  • Learn what PPE for scaffold erectors entail such as helmets, fall arrest systems, and safety harnesses.
  • Describe the correct procedures for applying and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and its relevance in injury mitigation during scaffold erections.

Mitigation of Hazards and Safety in Scaffold Erection

  • Explain the potential dangers that arise during the process of erecting scaffolds such as tools falling, structures being off-balance, and environmental factors.
  • Describe how safety guard constructions control these hazards such as the use of guardrails and toe boards and proper communication with personnel.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.

Candidates will be provided a hard bound or soft material covering the whole course which can also be accessed through Phoenix LMS (learning management system) i.e. www.phoenixcpd.com

Successful candidates will be awarded with completion certificate awarded by Phoenix Safety Consultants UK

This course will be useful for a wide range of professionals including but not limited to:

  • Safety managers and coordinators having major responsibilities of occupational safety and health.
  • Supervisors and team leaders
  • Environmental health and safety specialists
  • Construction workers and site managers
  • Manufacturing and industrial plant workers
