Rope Rigging and Emergency Rescue course prepares learners on proper rope rigging techniques and rescue procedures for construction, offshore platforms, and other highly dangerous industrial sites. Participants will learn load rigging fundamental concepts, anchor point selection, knot tying, and systems using mechanical advantage to efficient and safe rigging operations. OSHA, ANSI, and IRATA regulations and guidelines along with other industry standards are provided on risk control measures such as fall protection, equipment checks, risk evaluation, and safety inspections. Emphasis is given on planning for rescues during emergencies such as self-rescue methods, evacuation for casualties, and employing rescue equipment in confined space and high areas. This class target audience is riggers and rescuers and safety officers; the learners are prepared programmatically on the use of ropes and on proper emergency response operations. Upon the completion of this class, participants are expected to employ ideal procedures on rope rigging and perform rescues in hostile scenarios.

By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills needed to apply rope rigging techniques in combination with emergency rescue operations for worker safety on potential hazardous situations while abiding by industry standards:

Intro To Rope Rigging And Safety Hazard

  • Learn the basics of rope rigging, types of ropes and knots, and also the rigging equipment used in rescue operations without the use of cranes.
  • Recognize and comprehend hazards encountered while rope rigging such as improper rigging, rope deterioration, and safety-perilous environmental dynamics.

Proper Rope Rigging Techniques and Equipment Usage

  • Grasp the correct procedures pertaining to the setup of ropes, including but not limited to the securing of anchor points, application of rigging hardware, and the implementation of safe lifting load calculations.
  • Learn about selection and use criteria for various rigging equipment including winches, carabiners, and pulleys, particularly ensuring optimal condition capable of bearing the anticipated load.

Rope Rescue Operations and Techniques

  • Differentiate between various rope rescue techniques including vertical and horizontal rescues and determine the application based on the circumstances.
  • Recognize the value of effective verbal exchanges, cooperation, calibration, and other interactions as they pertain to the success and safety of the rescue.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Rope Rigging and Rescue

  • Understand all pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) including harnesses, helmets, gloves, and ropes, needed for rope rigging and rescue operations.
  • Study ways of reducing injury risk associated with rope rigging and rescue activities through proper use, inspection, maintenance of PPE, and following established protocols.

Emergency Response and Incident Management

  • Know emergency procedures associated with rope rigging incidents such as rescuing an injured person, controlling and stabilizing the affected person, and evacuation route clearance.
  • Equip yourself with the preventive measures sure of enforcing safety policies, conducting drills, maintaining clear emergency response plans, and other preparatory works to reduce risk exposure during rope rigging exercises.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
