This course is designed to cover all aspects of safety and health in the welding environment, emphasizing oxygen gas and arc welding processes with some coverage given to resistance welding. It contains information on the protection of personnel and the general area, ventilation, fire prevention and protection, and confined spaces. A significant section is devoted to precautionary information, showing examples, and an extensive bibliography is included. Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

  4. Ventilation and Fume Control: Importance of proper ventilation in welding and cutting operations, techniques for controlling and removing welding and cutting fumes
  5. Electrical Safety: Electrical hazards associated with welding and cutting equipment, procedures for safe operation and maintenance of electrical equipment
  6. Fire Safety: Fire prevention and protection in welding and cutting operations, procedures for emergency evacuation and fire response
  7. Compliance and Auditing: Understanding and compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards, auditing the workplace for compliance and identifying areas for improvement
  8. Conclusion: Summary of key points and best practices for health and safety in welding, flame cutting, and allied processes, resources for further information and training.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
