This course is designed to provide help and assistance on how to work safely on most tasks you will encounter. It will also help to identify the main causes of accidents and ill health and explains how to eliminate hazards and control risks. The course is simple but comprehensive. The solutions are straightforward and easy to adopt.  Instructional contact-time must be a minimum of 8 hours.

This course will offer participants a detailed understanding in various segments, which are not limited to:

  1. Introduction to Health and Safety in Construction: Overview of OSHA regulations and standards for construction safety, importance of health and safety in the construction industry, risks and hazards associated with construction sites.
  2. Construction Safety Management: Understanding the principles of construction safety management, implementing construction safety programs and procedure, identifying and managing construction hazards.
  3. Site Planning and Organization: Implementing safe operating procedures for construction sites, conducting regular inspections and maintenance of construction sites, identifying and addressing potential hazards during site planning and organization.
  4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Understanding the requirements for PPE on construction sites,  familiarizing with PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and work boots, training employees on the proper use and care of PPE.
  5. Fall Protection: OSHA regulations and standards for fall protection in construction,  implementing fall protection measures such as guardrails, safety nets, and personal fall arrest systems, training employees on fall protection procedures.
  6. Scaffolding Safety: OSHA regulations and standards for scaffolding safety in construction,  understanding the proper construction, use, and maintenance of scaffolding,  training employees on scaffolding safety procedures.
  7. Heavy Equipment Safety: OSHA regulations and standards for heavy equipment safety in construction, understanding the proper operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, training employees on heavy equipment safety procedures.
  8. Electrical Safety: OSHA regulations and standards for electrical safety in construction, understanding the proper use and maintenance of electrical equipment, training employees on electrical safety procedures.
  9. Conclusion: Review of key concepts and best practices for health and safety in construction, importance of ongoing commitment to safety and compliance with regulation,  resources for further information and support.

Training will be conducted via Microsoft Team Meeting, online. Meeting invites will be shared on the day before the first day of training.
