Controlling Hazardous Energy Lockout-Tag Out course focuses on the Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure which is fundamental for workplace safety during equipment service and maintenance that what equipment requires lockout and/or tagout before maintenance or service. Participants will be educated on the dangers of hostile energy sources like electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, and how their unanticipated activation can cause injuries and death. The course covers the entire LOTO process which includes: recognizing energy sources, isolating equipment, applying tags and locks, and validating zero energy state prior to commencing work. Special focus is given to creating a controlling LOTO program with comprehensive written policies, employee trainings, and regular LOTO audits for OSHA compliance. Other relevant case studies and benchmark practices will be presented to enhance learning of the participants. Participants shall leave the course with an understanding of how to manage hazardous energy, mitigate incidents, and better the workplace environment.

Course completion will allow participants to develop the skills necessary to apply, control, and manage Lockout-Tag Out (LOTO) systems pertinent to the intricate control of hazardous energy momentum, which may pose a threat during servicing and maintenance.
