Confined Space Entry course addresses the specific safety measures and legal compliances required for working, confined space entry training, protecting workers and ensuring legal obligation is met. Some examples of confined spaces include storage bins, tanks, vaults, and pipelines. They each pose their own threats such as lack of oxygen, toxic environments, movement restriction, and engulfment. This training provides understanding of confined space entry and includes hazard identification, risk evaluation, atmospheric monitoring, and entry procedures. Attendees are taught about PPE, RPE, ventilation systems, and permit-to-work methods and confined space entry equipment. The legal parts of this OSHA, HSE, NFPA compliant course include emergency preparedness, rescue planning, and mitigation analysis. Attendees are taught safe entry protocols and real life scenarios that with case studies to develop risk mitigation strategies and emergency responses. Supervisors, safety professionals, and other personnel working in confined spaces or assigned confined space operations in hazardous work areas will benefit from this course as it increases confined space awareness and encourages the best safe practices for industrial work environments and hazardous spaces.

This course will enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the safety prerequisites associated with entry into and work undertaken in confined spaces. Participants will understand how to systematically identify hazards and implement safety measures that comply with industry practices aimed at risk mitigation.

Understanding Confined Space Hazards

  • Identify the importance of evaluating the environment of a confined space and how hypothesizing conditions within a spatial confinement affects the risk analysis.

Confined Space Entry Procedures

  • Further the ability to perform confined space entry procedure taking into account prerequisite safety steps such as atmospheric testing, adequate ventilation, and entry permitting.
  • Identify the necessity of maintaining air quality throughout the work process and the need for safe ventilation measures.
