Boom Truck Operator Safe Operations course is aimed at training boom truck operators to work in construction, utility, or logistic industries. Operators will learn the components and available versus required hydraulic functions for safe operation of the hydraulic boom along with outriggers and load charts. The course will focus on necessary actions prior to operation such as inspection checklists, load weighing, and a rigging method that reduces risk of equipment failure, drop-loads, tip overs, and other possible accidents. Students are required to comprehend risks encountered during operation such as near power lines, uneven ground, or harsh climate conditions. Students are taught methods of effective communication including signals for non-verbal emergency actions and other responses. After completion of this course, students will be able to operate under OSHA regulations and reduce accidents associated with boom truck crane.
After completing this course, participants will be able to operate boom trucks safely with minimal operational worksite risk. Knowledge of safety procedures, hazard recognition, and the emergency response protocols for protective measures to be implemented during boom truck operations will be mastered.

Identification of Boom Truck Parts and Their Functions

  • Identifying the main parts of Boom Trucks: The boom, crane, lifting capability, and the controls that correspond.
  • Comprehending how each part functions enhances the safe operation and performance of the boom truck.
